Louisa Porter served as a United States Magistrate Judge with the Southern District of California for 26 years. She fully retired in 2017 and has since engaged in various humanitarian and philanthropic endeavors. Presently she is leading a team (pod) to rescue at-risk Afghan women judges and assist them to resettle in San Diego.

Prior to her judicial career, she owned her own law firm practicing civil trial work. Prior to practicing law she owned a private investigation business in Indianapolis, Indiana.
