Will Newton is a design researcher with a background in UX and cross-cultural ethnography. In his day job, he develops and executes field research for clients including Arup Engineering, the Lego Foundation, and the UK NHS, with the aim of improving outcomes in healthcare, child-friendly urban development and disaster relief contexts.

Prior to transitioning into design, Will spent several years in the West Bank and Yemen, researching and reporting on civil society initiatives in communities under military occupation. Will holds an M.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.F.A. in Design from California College of Arts.

Since January 2022, Will’s work with AfghanEvac has included refreshing the organisation’s brand identity, establishing a cohesive design language for infographics and communications, and managing content strategy for the AfghanEvac website.
